Eirí Corca Baiscinn is funded by Area Development Management (ADM Ltd) through the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP) Eirí works in 3 strands:
Kilkee Development AssociationKilkee Development Association was set up 40 years ago with an initial aim
of improving and promoting the town. The association is now involved in the
promotion of various events including the Harvest
Welcome Home Festival which
is held in September each year. The Association has approximately
50 members. Tidy TownsKilkee Tidy Towns has been in operation for over 25 years. Through the voluntary efforts of many locals and the various Fás schemes Kilkee has over the years taken pride of place amongst the top achievers in Clare and indeed in the country. Being a holiday town great stay is put on the assistance of the holiday-makers who are the life blood of the economy and who strive to help with litter prevention allied to keeping their holiday homes and surrounding landscape in a presentable condition. Twinning AssociationKilkee Twinning Association was founded in 1982 with Plouhinec, a town of similar size in France. Over the years many student, club and house exchanges have taken place between the two towns cementing the international connection. The association celebrated their 21st anniversary in France in 2003. Sub Aqua ClubKilkee Sub Aqua club was founded in 1982 to promote scuba diving in the West Clare area. The club has 30 plus members and is a member club of CFT Comhairle Fó Thuinn (The Irish Underwater Council), the regulatory body for sports diving in Ireland with about 80 member clubs both North & South. The club engages in specialist training courses with other clubs, provides a platform for dive outings for members and visiting divers during the season and also assists the local marine rescue and recovery service when required. The club operates on a voluntary non-profit making basis. Kilkee St. Senan's GAASt. Senan's GAA football club was affiliated 100 years ago. St. Senan's have won Senior Football Championships 1926, 1928, 1942,1984, 1989, 1992 and are the current county champions. The club has also won many championships in Junior A and Junior B, under 21, Minor and all grades under 12, 14 and 16's . Over the years the club has also supplied many players to County teams. In 1992 St. Senan's had two players, Noel Roche and Ger Kelly on the Munster Championship winning team. Noel Roche also played with Ireland V Australia compromise rules football in four competitions, 1984,1986,1987 and 1990. At present St. Senan's GAA Club are planning extensive development of their grounds. Meals on WheelsGerard Haugh, Proprietor of Myles Creek Bar & Restaurant, O'Curry St. Kilkee delivers hot meals to people residing in Kilkee. The local community cherishes this service, as many people recovering from hospital stays are unable to prepare meals for themselves. The meals are provided at a reasonable rate without any delivery charge. Kilkee Beavers & CubsKilkee Beavers was founded in September 2000 catering for children from 6-8 years. Kilkee Cub Scouts caters for children from 8-10 years. Meetings of the both clubs incorporate games, crafts, singing, teaching children about the community of Kilkee, promoting a community spirit and co-operation between all sections of community life. The Club's motto is Sharing Sharing Sharing. For further information email - kilkeebeaversc@hotmail.com Womens' GroupThe aim of the Kilkee Womens' Group is to reach out to all women in the community, to share friendship and strengthen unity among women in a creative and fun environment. The group meets every Monday night from September to May. Over the years the group have organised various fundraising events providing much needed support for the Rape Crisis Centre, repairs to St. James Church of Ireland and a project to help underprivileged young women in Bucharest and Romania to mention but a few. West Clare Cancer Support GroupThe West Clare Cancer Support group aim to create a safe place where people can talk about cancer and express their feelings. The group provides information on supports systems, alternatives and counselling. The group is open to cancer patients, their relatives and friends. Kilkee Apostolic WorksThe Kilkee Branch founded in 1998 aims to foster mission awareness and to raise funds to meet the needs of missionaries and people in third world countries. Kilkee Church ChoirAlso known as the Kilkee Singers Kilkee church choir is an active
group with up to 36 members. They host an annual fundraising open air
concert every year in August and beneficiaries over the years have included
the Ennis Hospice, Special Olympics and the Brothers of Charity services
