Minutes of the Annual Meeting of Kilkee Town Council held on Monday 2nd July, 2007 at the Sweeney Memorial Library, Kilkee.

1. Election to the office of Cathaoirleach

Cllr Huagh called for proposals for the position of Cathaoirleach. Cllr Linnane nominated Cllr Lardner. This was seconded by Cllr Deloughery. As there was no further nominations Cllr Lardner was deemed to be elected Cathoirleach.
Before vacating the chair Cllr Haugh reflected on her year as Mayor, expressed her thanks to the former Town Manager, Town Clerk, & Executive Engineer and welcomed the new officials that had come on board during her term. She said that while the Traffic Management Plan had dominated most meetings during the year, the recent official opening of Allenders Field had been the highlight of her year. She expressed her thanks to the Council outdoor workers, the members of the local Gardaí, the staff of Sweeney Memorial Library, fellow elected members and the Town Clerk. Town Manager, Dave Timlin congratulated Cllr Lardner on his election and Cllr Haugh on her successful year as Mayor. He thanked Cllr Haugh for the welcome extended to the new officials. He said he was particularly pleased that a level of harmony had been reached on the issues surrounding Marine Parade in the Traffic Management Plan and that we could now look forward to the review process.Cllr Lardner thanked his proposer and seconder and also thanked the people who voted for him in the last elections. He said that Cllr. Haugh was going to be a difficult act to follow paying tribute to her dedication to the role and that he looked forward to his year as Mayor.

2. Election of the office of Leas Cathaoirleach

Cllr. Lardner called for nominations for the position of Leas Cathaoirleach.
Cllr McGrath proposed Cllr Linnane. This was seconded by Cllr Lardner.
Cllr Keane proposed Cllr Lily Marrinan Sullivan, which was seconded by Cllr Martin.
Acting Town Clerk Siobhán Curran told the meeting that as there was two nominations a vote had to be held.
Cllr Haugh, Deloughery, Lardner, Linnane & McGrath voted for Cllr Linnane (5).
Cllrs Martin, Nolan, Keane and Marrinan Sullivan voted for Cllr Marrinan Sullivan (4). As Cllr Linnane received 5 votes he was deemed to be elected Leas Cathaoirleach.

3. Appointment of delegate to the Association of Municipal Authorities of Ireland.

Cllr. Lardner expressed an interest in remaining on as the delegate to the AMAI.
All councillors were in agreement with this.

4. Schedule of Ordinary Meetings

The schedule of ordinary meetings was noted.

As there was no further business the meeting concluded.
